Boo-Hoo!

So Halloween is here and this time last year we were excited about a chili cook off at a friends house and taking our Japanese student trick-or-treating. This year, there will not be as much excitement in the plans. Larissa will be off with friends, Rene will be in Phoenix, and Renie and I will stay home and pass out candies. Yes, this is how it is when your kids start to get older. The kids and I plan to go to The Collassal Cave Candlelight tour, so this should add some excitement to our weekend.

Today, I am just a woman full of energy. I can't seem to sit still. The house is clean, the floors are swepted, and the beds are made. The wind has dampered my morning run, so I plan to head to the gym after lunch for an indoor work-out. I love Vail, but I don't like the fact that my gym drive is 25 minutes away on the base. I prefer running outdoors anyway. Every morning I run into the same people, a dog walker, and older couple who holds hands during their entire walk, an older lady who smiles at me, and a few bike riders. It's pretty routine, but I still love the beautiful crisp cool surroundings. Some mornings I go off the beaten path and try a different route. Overall, I am not complaining but still miss my running buddies and the awesome conversation we use to have. Next month I will be turning 44 years old. I have to admit running has kept my weight down, motivates me to stay fit, and keeps me medication free. I am eating much healthier again, and staying away from the "white stuff". I feel great, and vow to continue taking good care of this one and only body I have.
