Tired and hungry, we have finally arrived at the 5th station after a 2 1/2 hour decent

On our way, rested and feeling good.

Arriving at one of the many huts along the way.

These climbs literally took your breath away

Time to rest
The day after climbing an active volcano you start to realize what an accomplishment it was. Today I am suffering from sore muscles and can barely walk up and down my stairs. You can see from the picture above how grueling some of the climb was. If you suffer from bad knees,or a bad back, you are in trouble. Some of the thoughts that ran through my mind was earthquake, rock slides, and lightning storm. Weather on the mountain can change in an instant. One minute the clouds rolled in and the next they were gone. At one point I thought I heard thunder, but it was only a plane. What a sigh of relief. You hear stories from other climbers who have experienced these incidents, but thanks to god our day was perfect.
