June, still lots of snow on the mountain. Climbing season runs from July to August

Rene has been invited to climb Mt. Fuji next week. The fact that he did not make it to the top did bother him. He feels confident and fit for a second grueling climb. I admire him and wish I could go. I do feel it is a little to soon for a second climb. I am still recovering and hope I will have the opportunity to climb next July before we leave Japan. I have posted some pictures of my friend who did the climb before climbing season began in June. They ventured on the more extreme. The huts were not even open, there was snow on the mountain and workers were still clearing the paths. Crazy!
