Sayonara Japan

Well this will be my last blog on our adventures here in Japan. Three years and it is hard to believe that it is time to go. Rene and I used to take long walks our first year here in Japan just reminiscing about how homesick we were and how it would be a long two years. Rene's first year here was the most stressful time. He actually thought about leaving the Air Force, but he got through it and with new leadership, and new friends things began to look up. Our last two years here would blossom into a wonderful experience as we traveled, and developed new friendships. I will never forget all the wonderful memories, and the beauty of this wonderful country.
Things I will miss here in Japan:
The nice warm toilets
The people
The safety
The weather
The views of Mt. Fuji early in the morning while running down the flightline
The work ethic of the Japanese people
The many friendships
The Striders Lite Group
The fresh tuna and sushi
The Ramen
The traveling
The Cherry Blossoms
My Culture Group
The weird fashion
My job

Things I will not miss:
The pollution
The traffic
The long lines
The crowded trains
The living on base 24/7
The BX/shopping
Thanks to all the readers who followed my blog. My new blog address will remain the same, but the adventure will now take us to Arizona.

Rene and Ronda,

For the families back in the states its been a long 3 years and we have truly missed you all, but all too certain that you also were an envy to all here at home who have never traveled, much less lived abroad. Glad to have experienced Japan through the lense of Ronda's Blog. I know I sure will miss it, but glad to see you close to home...Be safe and see you all soon.

Love Oscar
