Day 2-Shopping, Patong Beach, Spa, & Fantasea Show

Our second day started with a wonderful breakfast buffet at the hotel.  We then darted off to Patong Beach which was about a 5 minute walk from our hotel.  This gave us a chance to check out some of the street shops and do some bargaining.  Times are tough here in Phuket, so we had to bargain hard.  It is a popular destination for Europeans and Australian tourist.  I don't think we ran into one American family.  We met tourist from Kuwait, France, Australia, etc...  It was pretty interesting.  Patong Beach was crowded and every few minutes someone walked by you to sell an item such as dresses, silk, sunglasses, etc...  We only spent around 2 hours on this beach.  Renie experienced his first sight of topless sunbathers lounging right by our chairs.  During your stay in Phuket, you must have at least one massage.  Larissa, Micky and I treated ourselves to a full body oil massage.  We felt as we were walking on air afterwards.  There are huge spa complexes here in Thailand and on the streets along Patong.  Larissa enjoyed being pampered right on down to her thong.  She was apprehensive about being almost naked.  It was funny.
