Beyond The Horizon

So I am getting all dolled up for my hubby. The hair is highlighted and cut, pedicure is done, skin is moisturized, and I am feeling great. Lucky for me, Rene has been able to call me everyday just to keep me updated on what he is doing. He can't wait to get home on Saturday. He is looking forward to a good bath, some good food and of course our soft bed. Hanging out with Army guys has not been all that fun, but he has accomplished the mission in providing care to so many people. They had to make so many comprises given that customs would not release their equipment until yesterday. They were able to borrow supplies from some of the local dentists. You guessed it, not at all what they are used to. Nevertheless, their mission was a success.

So this seasons Biggest Loser Show has inspired us to go out and buy a punching bag. You can feel your heart pumping instantly. Rene has been wanting to get a bag for the longest time, we just never had the space. So at 44-45 years old, we are as active as ever. The heat is approaching, but so far the days here have been perfect. I have started to get excited about planting some flowers by the pool. Tucson has such colorful pots and so that will be my project soon. Work is going well, and I truly enjoy all the fun bunch of people around me. The snow birds are leaving and this makes things a little calmer at work and in and around the city. So as we look toward this summer, we will be planning a trip down South to visit college campuses and see family. Our friends will be here 4th of July week, so the Grand Canyon and Sedona will be on the travel plans. Unfortunately, it will be a quick summer with the kids starting school mid-July so our plans will be crunched. Rene will be gone all of June to Haiti so Larissa and I will be searching for a small dog to keep her company. She has pleaded with us for years to let her get a dog, and so we have decided the time is right.
