Philipino Night Out

Presenting gifts to our Japanese friends
Japanese Gift Wrapping
Gift wrapping a Rice Wine bottle

Our Japenese friends were invited for a Philipino dinner.  We had a great time eating, learning Japanese gift wrapping, and singing karaoke.  Japanese syle gift wrapping, called tsutsumi which uses paper and cloth to create simple but elegant wrappings for gifts, presents and packages.  It is challenging to learn, but I think we did a great job.  Karaoke was fun.  Larissa and Rene did a great job singing La Bamba and other selections.  This weekend was a toss between climbing Mt. Fuji or going to see the Ome fireworks.  Since we have two more years here we will climb Mt. Fuji next year, hopefully with the Salas family.
